Are any made in America?
None that I'm aware of in this price range. If you search and are looking for larger industrial unit there may be some, but I have never searched myself.
I have most of my food stored in mylar with oxygen absorbers (no vacuum). Do you think it would be worth opening some of those and repackaging them with this machine?
Yes I do. The vacuum packing will last much longer.
@@ItsallabouttheRack thanks so much. I appreciate it.
didnt suck at all, good job actually, no BS....Thanks a lot.... I missed the Pun first time, concentrating too hard! 😄
I noticed that will you vacuum something with high moister content, the chamber fogs up. What am I doing wrong?
I've never noticed this myself. I would look at the length of time you have your machine set to vacuum, the longer the time, the more that the liquid will boil off. I would start by adjusting the time. Also double check your seal and make sure that is in good shape and there's nothing built up on it.
Mine broke after 100 uses . Transformer went out no parts available . Its now a boat anchor.
Sorry to hear that. It's just a transformer, get one from the many electronic suppliers online.
I just bought this same chamber sealer. Used it for a rib roast I cut into steaks , ribs & fat chunks for sausage making. I got mixed results. The ribs and the fat chunks had a very tight pack. No air inside. The steaks it sealed well but felt loose in bag like all the air didn't get pulled out. Does the meat being packaged need to be frozen first for a better tight packaging? Any tips to make this unit better? I noticed the steel that the silicone seal sits on is well poorly finished. Scratches and some dips. Not super smooth. Thinking about running a strip of tape?
No it doesn't need to be frozen. I have noticed a package or two that has not vac'd as good as the "usual", I'll just start over. Not sure why this happens but it's definitely not the norm. The tape needs to be the same type as far as I know, which is a great resistant tape. I have sourced it off you need some I can give you a link.
@@ItsallabouttheRack The tape I was talking about would go where the silicone seal mates to the chamber. On top the scratches in the steel may be causing a slow leak. But yes please send me the link.
Your dimensions are incorrect. You didn't include the full height of the lid (dome). Looks like 11", not 9-1/2".
My oil level line is at 3/4 on the window but the sheet you had in the video says fill half way
You should be fine, but may see a little bit of smoke possibly, it's nothing to worry about if you do. The half full is the best way to fill because of the oil heating up and expanding, so as long as you're not running it for extensive periods of time you'll be fine.
how's the performance of the machine after a few years of use?
It's been good. I will have a follow up video coming soon, showing a newer machine and changing out the heat strip.
Basically m8 China leading up the world and u American want to fuck up all the world go war with China lol 😆 because u got nothing in 🇺🇸 Really sorry m8 I'm just have to say. Don't mean horrible way . Good luck 👍
Have you ever over heated the unit? I am concerned of constant use?
I have never over heated the unit, but the most I've done at one time is around 35-40 bags. This unit is not a commercial grade unit. It's a big step up from a Food Saver unit though.
@@ItsallabouttheRack how has it been 2 years out? When you say not commercial unit do you mean it’s not even close to the level of a vacmaster 215? Which what I cross shopping but this seems to good to be true. It’s either 450 or $1300 here in Canada. Best review I’ve seen so far of the vevor
Hello, Will this machine do a retort pouch ? and is the heating bar replaceable?
I have not tested a retort pouch. Yes you can get parts, which I'm trying to work out a deal with a manufacturer now. If that gets done I'll be doing a follow up video for the unit showing how to replace the parts. Stay tuned and thank you for watching.
Did it seal Mylar bags well at all?
I have never tried a Mylar bag... Sorry
Is there a particular brand of oil you use for the machine? or will any old pump oil suffice?
You are going to need a vacuum rated oil for this. I've been trying to work a deal with a manufacturer of parts including oil but have not come to terms yet. If you look on Amazon for vacuum pump oil, it's all the same.
long term review needed: all Chinese stuff lasts a few days
Any idea where you can purchase spare parts for this machine? I bought one and now am having a hard time finding any parts online...
No, sorry I haven't needed any parts as of yet. I am nearing the point that I'll be needing some soon and have thought I'd need to "find something and make it work" kinda thing. Sorry I know it's not help... 🤷♂️
@@ItsallabouttheRack what parts are you needing now?
Actually, I'm in the middle of a video for that very thing. You can check out this link if you'd like. Check out this page from dietz www.amazon.com/shop/itsallabouttherack
great video. thanks!
Very good sharing.
So I have the same exact unit and every single time it tries to seal it pops fuses and this the other day I tried to put another fuse in their same exact size the fuse did not pop and the actual heat strip bar caught on fire very unsafe unit
When was the last time you replaced the actual heat strip and the covering for it? They give you extra, I changed mine when the strip was looking to worse for wear. The heat strip is just thin metal and will wear out.
@@ItsallabouttheRack I put a new heat strip in it and it did the same thing
The wiring may have been compromised to a point that its been degraded and due to this the Amp drawn goes up and the fuse pops. Either take it to a repair shop or buy new. Have to say though, this has been for me a very good bang for my buck.
@@ItsallabouttheRack intill your house catches fire
@@shannoncreel4466 not sure what you mean by intill? If you mean until? Then I'm not sure what you're doing by operating a unit like this unattended in the first place. Secondly there are more fires caused by ppl leaving there cell phone cords plugged in than operating a unit such as this. You've already voiced your disgust on this unit, allow this sleeping dog to lie.
Hi. Is it not automatic start to vacuum when you close the cover? Or you only need to press start always?
Yes, you need to press start every time you put the package inside and shut the lid
Hi, can this unit vacuum seal liquid? For eg: Soup?
Yes it can because it vacuums the chamber and not the bag. What makes the seal on a bag or a jar is the introduction of atmospheric pressure... Well besides the unit having a heat bar to seal the end of the bag of course. It's not the highest unit inside so the jar can't be that tall. I have done cream type soups that worked fine.
@@ItsallabouttheRack Thank You!
What's the cost of machine does it pack powered
I haven't kept track of the pricing after my purchase. I did buy mine on Ebay, there are a handful of sellers, I would start with that.
I've had this machine now for about nine months. After a few hundred uses its been flawless. The fit and finish is good and the controls are simple and easy to understand . Adding oil was simply using the supplied instructions.
I have DZ400 and repair few for other people. anyone looking for spare parts or those bags can contact.
Is compressor oil and vacuum pump oil the same? They look similar and both devices are pumping air.
No they are not the same oil. Vacuum pump oil is formulated so that it will absorb moisture, this is why it needs to be changed every so often. If you were to fill up the oil with all the moisture that it could take, the moisture will bypass and this is when you can start breaking down you pump. Oil, and the correct oil is the life blood of this type of pump.
I got one but the gate does not work? But I follow your instruction. can you help
Not sure what you mean by gate?
What do you recommend for a commercial operation.
I'm not a commercial user but there's only a few makers of these units. Definitely spend the money on a name brand and something that has a company that you can get a hold of for parts or service.
@@ItsallabouttheRack which one for commercial, i have a business
@@daniel17319, again, I'm not using it for commercial purposes. I would recommend that you look on the Internet for some manufacturers and contact them with your wants and needs in a unit.
@@ItsallabouttheRack ok thanks
@@daniel17319 VacMaster VP220 is what you need
Ugh why does no one post reducing the time. Why would I want to do it slower and longer. What happens if I put vacuum setting on 1 or 2 seconds .... time is money here . Helloooo
I get what you're saying but there's actually science behind pulling a vacuum. The more you go below atmospheric pressure and into the micron range the better the bag seals and the tighter the bag will be around your product and the less freezer burn you will experience. Putting that aside the time is money theory you speak of does not pertain to me sealing average things that I'm putting in my freezer, not really sure I care about time, but I do care about it lasting a long enough time in my freezer.
I've found that you can loosely vacuum solid objects in as little as five seconds. Large cuts of meat take thirty seconds. With the same machine, I do most items set at 20sec. Vacuum, 1.5sec.Seal, 4sec. Cool down.
Fresh bread and rolls, chips, etc. Pickling, infusions, etc.
Please where to get those bags ?
I found my thru a local supplier but you can look on ebay or Amazon. Look for a 3 mil bag that is a good thickness for most anything you'll seal. My go to bag size is a 8" x 12" but you can obviously get smaller or larger to maybe up to 14" that will still fit without cramming the bag in.
webstaurantstore.com
Is it big enough to do a whole chicken?
I would think it would be fine for a while fryer type of chicken as long as you have a bag big enough.
I bought the exact same unit and its actually pretty good. I do food, ammo, medicine and any other prepper stuff. No regrets.
So when you say it's gana suck. Is that meant to be a pun? Is it an actual warning that the video will be bad? Are you saying it because that pump is gana suck?
It was a play on words.. Meaning the unit will suck or "vacuum". Hope you liked the video regardless of what was said at the beginning! 😉
@@ItsallabouttheRack Well I watched enough times to say it sucks.
What is the height of the inside lid? Does it seal canning jars well too?
It will not seal a standard canning jar.
I'm looking for a good companion unit to go with my Harvest Right freeze drier. Do you know if this will seal 5 mil mylar bags?
Sorry, I'm not sure what thickness bags it can do up to.
The listed dimensions ar 16”h x 18”d x 14”w on the sale site but it is the same model! Mobile Vectra 2 oil is perfect for this machine. It is $42.00 per gal. and should be changed often. These machines are not known for fit and finish but are more reliable than countertop sucking vacuum units. You: “Finest high quality screwdriver!” Me: “BWAHAHAHAHA!!!” (ROFLMBO). By the way-It just seems odd that your machine suffers ‘Ed’ during performance....(anxiety?) Great review! Hella-impressive! I’m feeling bad about my $6700 vacuum sealer for my skin care product business!
I've had mine for about two years now. Its all in Chinese. It didn't really occur to me to go surfing for info on it. Today is the first time I've topped up the Oil in the pump. I don't use it extensively. It works. It works good. It does its job. Liquids need to be cold or room temperature though, as warm liquids will tend to boil when a vacuum is applied.. There is a hole in the bottom front right corner that goes directly to that Manometer. If any gunk (liquid) goes down that hole, your manometer's stuffed. It won't interfere with operation but you'll lose your gauge indication. I have yet to look into if it can be replaced or serviced. You also need to attend to wiping it down and ensuring it is dry otherwise rust pitting will occur on the inner chamber. Food Hygiene! Keep it clean, keep it sanitary, keep it dry, and it'll do the job quite well.

Can it seal aluminium retort pouch?
Not really sure about that... Sorry
Yes. I seal them all the time. 5 mil bags for ammo
Thanks for this review. Im gonna buy one
Nice review! I have mine now and burned the Teflon trying to tune the settings. Does anyone know where to get the replacement? Maybe the whole sealing bar can be upgraded..also my unit sometimes buzzes very loudly during the last step. Is this normal?
Did you ever find the replacement bar?
@@tskroyal9198 no, but the replacement teflon was pretty easy to find and replace. I just found a roll (one side is sticky) that's wider than the bar and cut it to length. I needed to sand the heat strip to remove the burnt old stuff before applying the new teflon that first time. I can make a video of the replacement process if anyone is interested.
@@1empyre1life I don't think my sealing bar is getting any power, I put my multimeter in the post holes and didn't get anything. How do you know if its the teflon or the bar itself that needs replacing?

Do you know of a place where you can order spare parts for this unit?
No, I don't not know at this time.... Sorry
Can you fit a whole chicken in there?
Sorry, just saw this question from you. YT doesn't always alert me when ppl ask questions. Yes you could, your limitation will be your bsg size.
Almost a year later.. Do you still like the unit? Still working ?? Thank you for the video!
Yep still working fine. No real issue. I think the major gripe I have is the tape on the sealer bar. It shrinks up than I expected and it being smooth is the life blood of the sealed bag. I need to look for a heavier grade and see if that helps. Overall still happy with my purchase!
@@ItsallabouttheRack what size tape does it use? I just ordered one Thanks
Curious how it would work for freezing peas and sweet corn that are not frozen and pretty soft already
It would work great. Obviously the longer the pull down in the chamber the harder pack it will become. Personally I think it would be fine.
It will handle a 10 x 13 pouch, which allows for the maximum amount of the pouch to fill the chamber and to cross the heating bar. The maximum height in the middle is about 3.75 inches (4 inches is too high). The recommended standard for calculating cool down time is to add an additional second to the sealing time. (E.g., 2 second seal time; 3 second cool down). In addition, it is also recommended that lid be held down by hand prior to starting the vacuuming. I nervously purchased this same unit but, surprisingly, for such a cheap Chinese machine, it works great. No regrets so far. Thanks for the video review.
